Little Peppers
Little Peppers FAQs
Who is Little Peppers for?
Little Peppers is for parents and their children to attend together. It is designed for families with two children under the age of three. (Most Little Peppers families have a young infant and a toddler, but groups sometimes include families with twin toddlers, or an older baby and a toddler.)
What happens at Little Peppers?
Parents meet, share, and learn about the joys and challenges of parenting two young children. Groups are led by a professional facilitator. Each session includes sharing your parenting highs and lows from the week, songs and play time for the children, breaks for socializing and a group discussion on a subject directly related to the adventure of parenting.
At most of our sites, all babies and children remain in the room with their parents for the entire meeting. (It makes for quite a busy and exciting morning!) Toys are provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own, if your child would be comfortable sharing them. The facilitator leads the activities and discussion. Parents are responsible for all supervision of their children.
At the Dale Turner YMCA site ONLY: Childcare is available for an additional fee for children over one year old. For more details, see below.

How do I Register for Little Peppers?
To secure your spot and make your payment, please click on the link below. Be sure to select the correct session (Spring or Summer). If the time and location are still listed above, there is still room in the session. Once a session is full, it will be removed from our site and the next available session will be listed. Groups will be held at the same times and locations each quarter.
What does it cost to join Little Peppers?
Fees for an 11-week program (held in spring, fall, or winter quarter) are $199 per family. Both parents are welcome to attend. Fees for the 8-week summer session are $160 per family.
Payment is due in full when you register. (Refunds can be issued only if you cancel 3 weeks before your group begins.)
How do I request a scholarship for the PEPS Program Fee?
PEPS wants to serve EVERY family that registers for a PEPS Group. Financial hardship should never be a deterrant when considering joining PEPS- we happily provide income-based scholarships in amounts equal to 20-75% off fees, and full scholarships in special situations. Requests for scholarships will be possible once you select the session and location of your group.
Is Little Peppers limited to certain types of families? Is Little Peppers just for Moms?
Little Peppers is open to all families with 2 children under age three (at the time the group begins): could be one infant and one toddler, or twins under the age of three. All parents are welcome at Little Peppers sessions, though the majority of attendees are moms.
Does PEPS offer Little Peppers in Snohomish County?
In 2010, we will not be offering Little Peppers in Snohomish - however, the Shoreline site is quite close to the county line.
What about child care?
At most sites, babies and toddlers remain in the room with parents, and parents are responsible for their children.
At the Dale Turner YMCA site ONLY, childcare is available for older children (over age one). Babies under age one will be with their parents for the full meeting, and it is the parent's choice whether to have their older child attend the full meeting, or go to child care. The meetings will begin with 30 minutes of songs and game time for all the children, then there will be a 15 minute break, so parents who choose to do so can bring their older one to child care. Then the meeting will continue for another hour with highs and lows and topic discussions. The fee for child care is $3.00 per day. If you plan to use childcare, please reserve in advance by contacting Maura Parkhurst at the YMCA, at 206-569-7015.
What other programs does PEPS offer?
Orientation, Newborn Groups, Baby Peppers, and Bringing Baby Home.
